October 9, 2024 senior lecturers of the Department of Geography, Land Management and сadastre Kenespaeva L.B. and Aubakirova G.B. held a round table with 4th year students of the specialty «6B05205-Geography» on the topic «Gender stereotypes and their impact on innovation and economic progress», dedicated to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5 - achieving gender equality.

The event discussed issues related to gender bias, its impact on women's participation in innovation, and the barriers they face to equal opportunities in the economy. Students actively participated in discussions, shared their opinions and proposed possible solutions to create a more inclusive and equitable environment. Particular attention was paid to the importance of breaking down gender stereotypes to achieve sustainable development, as it is not only a matter of social justice, but also a factor contributing to economic growth and technological progress.

The roundtable allowed students not only to gain a deeper understanding of the topic of gender equality, but also to think about how they can help promote these values ​​in their future professional activities.
