The Faculty of Oriental Studies held a seminar on the SDG "Zero Hunger"
At the faculty of oriental studies of Farabi University, a seminar was conducted on the topic "Sustainable Development Goals (SDG): Zero Hunger." The seminar was led by M.A. Moshkal, a lecturer from the Department of the Far East. First-year students majoring in Oriental Studies participated in the event, actively engaging in discussions on global contemporary issues such as hunger and food security. The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of the Sustainable Development Goal focused on eradicating hunger, achieving food security, improving nutrition, and promoting sustainable agriculture. During the event, students were informed about the current global situation, discussed the causes and consequences of hunger, and examined successful examples from countries that have made significant progress in this area.
The students also learned about the United Nations' initiatives to combat hunger and studied Japan's experience in addressing food-related challenges. Special attention was given to sustainable agriculture policies and the role of innovation in increasing food availability. The seminar's results showed that the younger generation recognizes the need for collective efforts to tackle global challenges. Participants expressed their desire to deepen their research on topics related to the Sustainable Development Goals and contribute to their achievement.
The event emphasized the importance of educational activities on sustainable development among students, while also strengthening their understanding of the roles Kazakhstan and other countries play in addressing global food security issues.
