"History and Personality: Intellectual and Value Orientation"

Today, at the "Farabi" library of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a scientific-theoretical conference titled "History and Personality: Intellectual and Value Orientation" is being held, dedicated to the 120th anniversary of prominent statesman and public figure Nurtas Ondasynov. The conference was attended by faculty members, students, and researchers of the university. The scientific-theoretical conference was officially opened by the Chairman of the Board – Rector of the university, Mr. Janseit Kanseituly Tuymebayev.

Additionally, during the event, congratulatory speeches were delivered by Malik Nurzhanuly Otarbayev, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kanayuly Akhmetov, Advisor to the Mayor of Almaty, and Murat Zhurynuly Zhurynov, Statesman and Public Figure, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Researcher-journalist Gulsim Orazaliyeva and historian, scholar, and professor Mambet Koygeldiev also gave presentations about Nurtas Ondasynov’s life, career, and key milestones of his work.

At the opening ceremony, a documentary film about Ondasynov’s life was presented to the audience. The conference aimed to promote Nurtas Ondasynov’s contributions to the development of the country's potential and economy, as well as his efforts in advancing Kazakh science, culture, and the Kazakh language. It was emphasized that he governed the state justly for 13 years and that his main trait was his dedication to hard work.

From studying at the Tashkent Forestry Technical School between 1922 and 1927 to leading the Kazakh government from 1938 to 1951 and serving as Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR from 1954 to 1955, Ondasynov worked tirelessly for the Kazakh people. The conference, organized to pass on his legacy to the young scientists and students of KazNU, highlighted the great value his contributions have for future generations.
