On the eve of the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Working with students from abroad studying at the Department of Language and General Education Training of Foreigners of the Faculty of Pre-university Education of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University involves a comprehensive acquaintance with Kazakhstan. Teachers, curators and advisors of the department introduce students to the host country, telling them about today, as well as about the main historical milestones in the development of our state. Special attention is also paid to the modern history of Kazakhstan.

On the eve of the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, celebrated on October 25, educational events for students from Korea, Japan, China, America, and the Philippines are traditionally held in all study groups. During the open curatorial hours, foreign citizens learn about the history of the date and share their knowledge about this holiday. Visual photographic material is offered to the attention of the audience, depending on the level of language proficiency, and videos are shown. This work is an addition to the training sessions and, of course, expands the vocabulary of students.

Thus, the teachers of the Department of Language and General Education Training of Foreigners are actually implementing the idea stated among the Sustainable Development Goals of high-quality education. Receiving quality education promotes intercultural dialogue and strengthens respect for cultural, religious and linguistic diversity, which are important factors in achieving social cohesion and justice.
