On October 22, 2024, in the dormitory of students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, an event was organized for Iranology students under the leadership of G. K. Kudaibergenova, the head of the "Gulistan" club of the Department of Middle Eastern and South Asian Studies.  At this event, the book “The Light That Entered the Crack” by Daurbek Duisenbay, a graduate of our faculty, an Iranianist, diplomat and poet, was presented. First, the students were given a brief overview of the life and work of Dauirbek Duysenbai, who holds a unique place in Kazakh poetry, and excerpts from his poems were read. Then, Duysenbai's translations of poems by classical Persian poets such as Saadi Shirazi, Omar Khayyam, and Rudaki were discussed, with an analysis of the semantic harmony between the original and the translation. Dauirbek Kudaibayevich Duysenbai is a 2000 graduate of the Iranology department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, currently the head of a department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a candidate of philological sciences. His poems and articles are regularly published in national publications and websites. In 2003-2004, he was a laureate (second place) and a diploma winner (best work nomination) at the sixth and seventh "Shabyt" international youth creativity festivals. His poetry collection "Sagynyp Jurmin" ("I Miss You") was published in 2004, followed by "Oyanip Ketken Aq Saule" ("Awakened Light") in 2013, and "Sanilauga Tusken Nur" ("The Light That Entered the Crack") in 2021. In addition, his audio poetry collection "Zhupar" was released in Tehran in 2022. This event not only familiarised the students with the poet's work, but also enriched the youth spiritually.
