SDG 16. Sovereign Kazakhstan: Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow

24 october, 2024

On October 24, an open lesson was held at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics for fourth-year students of group G 23-01, dedicated to the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This event was not only a celebration but also an important step toward instilling values related to peace, justice, and sustainable development among students, which is directly connected to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16.

The lesson focused on the fundamental aspects of state independence, the diversity of cultures, and traditions of Kazakhstan. Students learned about the significance of peace and stability for societal development and discussed issues of justice and human rights. During the event, we emphasized the importance of each citizen in maintaining peace and security in the country.

SDG 16 — "Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions" — focuses on building inclusive societies, preventing violence, and ensuring access to justice. The open lesson served as a platform for discussing these important topics. Students discovered how each of them could contribute to creating a peaceful society, starting with respect for others and ending with active participation in their community's life.

Events like this open lesson not only deepen students' knowledge of their country's history and culture but also foster a sense of civic duty and responsibility. We hope that such initiatives will help the younger generation become active participants in processes aimed at achieving SDG 16 and contribute to creating a more peaceful society in Kazakhstan.
