From a scientific trip of historians

In order to implement direction 4."Quality education" of the "Sustainable Development Goals" program, associate professors of the Department of History of Kazakhstan G.B. Khabizhanova, M.S. Nogaybayeva visited the Institute of History and Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Azerbaijan named after A.A. Bakikhanov from October 18 to 28, 2024 in order to exchange scientific experience and collect scientific materials. Scientists have collected information related to Kazakh history from documents related to the medieval toponymy of the Turkic peoples, stored in the Institute’s archive. They got acquainted with rare books related to the Turkic world from the database of the National Library of Azerbaijan named after M.F. Akhundov. Scientists of the faculty took part in the Academic Council of the Institute of Geography of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the aim of exchanging views on the common toponymic and onomastic heritage associated with the Oghuz tribal union, and made a report. Books published as a result of new research by Azerbaijani scientists have replenished the database of the faculty library. The scientific trip was carried out on the basis of the fundamental project "Medieval toponymy in the aspect of the formation of the ethnic territory of the Kazakh people" for 2024-2026.
