The "Clean Kazakhstan" project is an initiative aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and cleanliness across the country. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) plays a significant role in this project, engaging its students in various activities that support its objectives.
KazNU students actively participate in campaigns designed to raise awareness about environmental issues. These campaigns often include educational workshops, clean-up drives, and community outreach programs that encourage responsible waste management and eco-friendly practices.2. Research and Innovation:
Students at KazNU are involved in research projects that focus on sustainable development and environmental conservation. For instance, recent projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education emphasize analyzing natural resource usage and wildlife conservation, which directly align with the goals of the Clean Kazakhstan initiative
KazNU collaborates with local government bodies to implement initiatives that contribute to a cleaner environment. This partnership allows students to engage in practical projects that have a direct impact on their communities, such as tree planting and urban beautification efforts.
The university incorporates sustainability into its curriculum, providing students with knowledge about environmental science and sustainable practices. This education equips students with the skills needed to contribute effectively to national initiatives like Clean Kazakhstan
Students organize seminars and workshops focused on entrepreneurship related to environmental sustainability. These initiatives not only foster business acumen but also encourage innovative solutions to environmental challenges, further supporting the Clean Kazakhstan project.
Active students and senior lecturers of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi actively participated in the eco-action and volunteered with Ecocycle.Birge and Almaty Management University.
Action participants feel their environmental responsibility and contribute to making positive changes in society. Students and teachers have given fiction, motivational books, encyclopedias and reference books to the village libraries as part of the book project. Sorted recyclable paper and cardboard, sorted various glass bottles, household appliances, plastics, handicrafts and jewelry. The main goal is to preserve the environment and create ecological culture. Educating a young generation that respects the environment.
Through these various activities, KazNU students are not only contributing to the Clean Kazakhstan project but are also gaining valuable experience in sustainability practices that will benefit their future careers and communities.
