"Man of science" - Kalkaman Tursynovich Zhumagulov.

Kalkaman Tursynuly is a doctor of Historical Sciences, a well-known historian-scientist, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, professor of the Department of World History, historiography and source studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
He began his scientific career in 1972 as a teacher at the Department of General History of S.M. Kirov Kazsu. Since then, within the walls of his native university, the scientist has gone through all stages of his professional growth, from assistant to Professor, Head of the department, dean of the faculty and academician.
In 1997, Kalkaman Tursynovich defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "the main problems of the development of the peoples of Ancient Germanic society before the Great Migration". This was the result of his many years of research on the history of the early Middle Ages.
Professor K. T. Zhumagulov is the only six-time holder of the international DAAD grant (Germany) in Kazakhstan: 1995, 1997, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011 GG.
Professor Kalkaman Zhumagulov is the first Kazakh historian-medievist, the author of about 500 works. Under his leadership, 16 candidate dissertations, 8 doctoral dissertations (PhD), as well as many master's theses were defended.
