Water Conservation – Our Shared Responsibility!
On October 25, in honor of Republic Day, the faculty held a duty shift at dormitory No. 6. From 12:00 to 14:00, Assel Ismailova, the deputy head of the Department of Mechanics for educational and methodological work, conducted an event titled “Water Conservation – Our Shared Responsibility!”
Sustainable development is one of the main challenges of our time. Within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the conservation of ecological resources, including water conservation, holds particular significance. With this goal in mind, an event was organized for first-year students living in the dormitory as part of the 6th Sustainable Development Goal, “Clean Water and Sanitation.”
The primary objective of the event was to promote water conservation among students and to enhance environmental education and responsibility. Additionally, attention was given to the issue of drinking water in Kazakhstan.
During the event, students discussed drinking water issues and water conservation rules, and they also held a drawing contest on the topic. Each participant attempted to convey their ideas through their artwork, resulting in the selection of the best entries. The best work was chosen to be a painting created by first-year student Diyorah Bahadirova from the educational program “6B05402-Mathematics.”
Moreover, the problem of drinking water in Kazakhstan was discussed. Students exchanged views on the quality and availability of water in the country, addressing issues such as water scarcity in many regions and pollution of water resources. It was emphasized that the active involvement of youth is essential for solving these problems.
As a result of the event, students gained a deeper understanding of the importance of water conservation and environmental responsibility. The exchange of opinions on drinking water issues and conservation rules contributed to raising environmental awareness among the youth. Students felt a sense of responsibility for their environment and promised to take active steps in water conservation.
Thus, the event served not only as an educational platform but also as an important step towards enhancing the environmental consciousness of young people. Water conservation – our shared responsibility!
