SDG 7 — "Affordable and clean energy"
As part of the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7) — "Affordable and clean energy" — a seminar was held on energy efficiency and clean energy. At this event, Professor of the Department of Plasma Physics, Nanotechnology and Computer Physics, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Koishiev T.K. presented a project to create an autonomous solar power plant with a capacity of 10 kW, as well as an educational and research ground based on the Faculty of Physics and Technology. This project is aimed at promoting renewable energy, which is one of the key sectors of the "Economy of the Future" within the framework of the State Program of the Republic of Kazakhstan for accelerated industrial and innovative development. In addition, the project is consistent with the sectoral program for the development of the electric power industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the requirements of the Law "On Support for the use of renewable energy sources" of 2009. The main goals and objectives of the project: 1. Personnel training: An autonomous solar power plant with a capacity of 10 kW, equipped with a training and research ground, will be integrated into the educational process for the preparation of bachelors, masters and PhD doctors studying in the fields of green energy. 2. Energy supply and sustainability: The electricity generated by the plant will become a reliable uninterruptible power supply for the laboratories of the Faculty and the lighting system of the Faculty of Physics and Technology. This will help to increase the energy stability of the university and reduce dependence on external energy sources. 3. Saving energy resources: Partial coverage of the faculty's electricity needs will reduce the university's energy consumption costs from the common network. The expected payback period of the project is 7.5 years, according to technical calculations. 4. Development of research potential: The training and Research ground will become a base for research and development in the field of green energy, supporting the scientific activities of the faculty and contributing to the development of innovative solutions within the framework of sustainable development. This project supports the goals of SDG 7 by providing access to clean energy, reducing the carbon footprint and creating a training platform for future renewable energy professionals.
