On November 4, 2024, the lecturers of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature together with the students of groups 24-16 and 24-1a of the Information Security Systems held a debate on the topic: "Gender Inequality". The topic of "Gender Inequality" is multifaceted, but the students devoted most of their time to discussing LGBT, that is, people of non-traditional sexual orientation. The students are well aware of the countries have legalized same-sex marriages; how people of non-traditional sexual orientation are treated in the Muslim world; why some countries use the death penalty against such people, etc. They also know how homosexuality is covered in the holy scriptures. In recent decades, LGBT has been developing at a very noticeable pace, modern society is becoming more and more tolerant, and therefore LGBT has become bolder and has begun to declare itself more and more often. Some believe that discussions about LGBT are most likely a fashionable intellectual trend, while others see in all this an alarming symptom that indicates upcoming social and demographic problems that humanity may face in the very near future. Clarification of all these issues and their personal position determined the choice of the topic of these debates as relevant and debatable. The organizer and moderator of the debate was Amitov Aliakbar. The "Against" team was represented by the students Alzhanova Ayaulym and Seydazim Muslim, who defended the conservative point of view, believing that the same-sex relationships and marriages can negatively affect the traditional foundations of our society, family values, the birth rate of children, etc. The "For" team included Abduali Temirlan, Balgozhina Adel, Kalmaganbet Aya, who spoke out in defense of LGBT, their rights and for the official recognition of same-sex marriages, which is actively supported in European countries, especially among young people, people of creative professions, and politicians. Responsibility for decorating the room and presentation cards depicting the rainbow flag and symbolizing the unity and diversity, beauty and joy of the LGBT communities was taken by Mamanova Aidana and Bekov Madiyar, and the cameraman was Shygysnuruly Almas. The rest of the students were fans, helping to decorate the room. A guest, Russian language teacher Alla Nikolaevna Efimova, was present at the debate.
