The Library is the largest laboratory in the world

To implement the ideas outlined in the significant address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, who emphasized the importance of supporting research and stated: “Supporting science and education is our main goal. The future of the country is in the hands of citizens with deep knowledge,” and within the framework of enhancing scientific research and supporting young scientists, on November 27, 2024 an event on the topic: “The Library is the largest laboratory in the world” was held,in the library of Al-Farabi KazNU. The event was organized by  Ayauzhan Kairatovna Tausogarova and Aksaule Zauytbekovna Kaibuldaeva for  the  first-year doctoral students of "Turkology" major. The event was aimed at   introducing the students  to the library's resources.

During the event, Chief Librarian Gulmira Nurmanovna Temirova provided the  doctoral students with a  detailed information about the library's services, electronic catalogs, scientific databases, e-books, access to international scientific journals, and online library resources. Workshops were conducted on topics such as writing academic papers, selecting appropriate literature, academic writing styles, and research ethics.

Thanks to the expertise and knowledge of the library staff,  the doctoral students learned  about the methods for searching, analyzing, and using information necessary for conducting scientific research.

At the end of the event, brochures on using library resources were distributed to the doctoral students, and a question -answer  session was held.

We hope this event was highly beneficial for the doctoral students, fostering their interest in conducting research, writing scientific works, and engaging in academic studies.
