Karasay Petroglyphs and Research Outcomes in the Zhambyl Region

As part of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 11 "Sustainable Cities and Communities," scientific research and adaptation of the Karasay petroglyphs, located in the Zhambyl region, were carried out on a competitive basis by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University this year, commissioned by the Department of Culture and Language Development of the Zhambyl Regional Administration. As a result of the research conducted in the Karasay Gorge, a scientific-popular book titled "Rock Art Treasures" and "Karasay Petroglyphs," illustrated in full color in three languages (Kazakh, Russian, and English), was published. Additionally, a documentary film describing the petroglyphs of the Zhambyl region was produced.
In this regard, the Dean of the Faculty of History, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Dosbol Suleimenuly Baigunakov, visited Taraz on November 21 to present the research findings at the international scientific-practical conference "Talas – Crossroads of Great Civilizations," held in honor of the 85th anniversary of the Zhambyl region.
