New approaches to the study of philosophy

The international scientific and practical conference "The main guidelines of Kazakh philosophy of the XXI century: spirituality, uniqueness, values" was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University within the framework of the IX Kasymzhanov readings.

The event was organized by the department of philosophy of the faculty of philosophy and political science together with the Al-Farabi Center and the Kazakh Committee of the philosophical society of turkic peoples.

The large-scale meeting was dedicated to the 93rd anniversary of doctor of philosophy, professor, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Agyn Kasymzhanov.

From 2003 to the present, Kasymzhanov readings have been regularly held on the basis of KazNU. The goal is to preserve the traditions of the kazakh philosophical school and the continuity of generations, as well as to discuss topical issues of philosophical science and modern kazakh society.

The traditional event was attended by Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs Darkhan Zhazykbai, Deputy Chairman of the Board – Acting First Vice-Rector Yerkin Duisenov, PhD, professor, scientific adviser to the Al-Farabi Center Zhakypbek Altaev, doctor of philosophy, professor Tursyn Gabitov, adviser on Ecology and socio-economic development, UN Consultant in Central Asia Boltri Roberto, scientists, philosophers, experts, students of A.Kasymzhanov, faculty and students.

Deputy Chairman of the Board – Acting First Vice-Rector of KazNU Yerkin Duisenov opened the conference with a welcoming speech. "In world philosophy, the name of Agyn Khayrollaevich enjoys special respect. The scientist was one of the first researchers of theoretical problems of the history of philosophical thought and the legacy of al-Farabi. With his direct participation, the Al-Farabi Center was established at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 1993", - the vice–rector said.

Darkhan Zhazykbai, Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, also spoke at the event.  He said: "Agyn Kasymzhanov left behind many scientific works on ancient Turkic writing, al-Farabi, as well as social philosophy. At the same time, the scientist made an invaluable contribution to the introduction of new ideas into Kazakh philosophy and the popularization of al-Farabi's work. The Kasymzhanov Readings International Conference has become a platform for discussing topical social and spiritual problems not only of philosophy, but also of society, global complex phenomena in general".

Also at the international conference, scientists Zhakypbek Altaev, Tursin Gabitov, Boltri Roberto and others made presentations, who spoke about the current problems of Kazakh philosophy.

This conference promotes the expansion of cooperation between scientists, the development of new research projects, the publication of joint scientific papers, as well as the further development of philosophical discourses in the framework of the study of the philosophy of the Turkic world.
