Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Public Service Darhan Zhazykbai met with young students of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi.
The meeting was attended by university students, students of the school for young civil servants and members of the regional personnel reserve.
Darkhan Medegaliyevich told about the activities carried out within the framework of implementation of the tasks set by the Head of State on modernisation of public service. Chairman of the Agency noted that the concept of development of public service for 2024-2029 was adopted, which is aimed at improving the existing system in accordance with modern requirements.
‘Recently, by presidential decree, the concept of development of the civil service of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024-2029 was adopted. As part of the implementation of the concept, an institute for early career guidance will be created, covering school and university levels. This measure will make it possible to motivate talented young people from school age. We will attract young people to public bodies based on the experience of Japan and Singapore. The criteria for selecting participants will include high academic performance and active participation in public life,’ said Darkhan Zhazykbai.
The speaker also emphasised that in order for young people to enter the civil service, it is necessary not only to be educated, but also to cultivate moral qualities and culture.
‘Quality cadre should be prepared within the country. We aim to form a new stream of professional civil servants by searching, attracting and qualitative selection. Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev said: ‘Fair Kazakhstan’ and ‘Responsible Citizen’ are two interrelated concepts that should always be considered as unshakable pillars of our country. We must educate the younger generation as responsible citizens of our country’. In this regard, I also think that an honest citizen is the driving force of a just Kazakhstan,’ said Darkhan Medegaliyevich.
At the meeting with young people, it was noted that public service should be aimed at honest work for the benefit of humanity and contribution to the development of the country, and not at personal interests.
The young people were interested in the simplified innovations of entering the civil service and expressed their opinions.
At the end of the meeting the Chairman of the Agency handed over the book ‘Әdiletti Kazakhstan - adal azamat about professional and personal qualities of civil servants’ to Farabi Library.
