Local Lore and Ethnographic Studies: A Scientific Lecture by A.B. Kalysh
As part of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 17 "Partnerships for the Goals," staff members of the Abish Kekilbayev Mangystau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore are undergoing scientific internships and professional development at the Department of Archaeology, Ethnology, and Museology of the Faculty of History at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
During the internship, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor A.B. Kalysh delivered a lecture on "The History of Scientific Research Formation in the Field of 'Historical Local Lore' in Kazakhstan's Museums: Current Issues in the Development of Museum-Based Historical Local Lore; Presentation of the Monograph 'Turkmens of Kazakhstan'."
The lecture covered the stages of scientific and historical development of museum-based local lore studies in Kazakhstan, their significance in modern research, and future development directions. Additionally, Professor A.B. Kalysh presented the key findings of his monograph "Turkmens of Kazakhstan," highlighting its significant contribution to the study of Kazakhstan's ethnographic heritage.
