As part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda under the theme "Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions," first-year master's student Gauhar Omarhanova participated in a literary meeting in Tehran

On November 27, 2024, in Tehran, the capital of Iran, an international seminar titled "Books: Ambassadors Without Borders" was held. It was organized by the Cultural Institute of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in collaboration with Iran's Book and Literature House, the "Book" TV channel, the Iranian Book News Agency (IBNA), and universities in the ECO region.

At this seminar, the Persian translation of Kazakh poet Makpal Zhumabay's book "Makpal's Rhythmic Poems" was presented. The book was translated into Persian by Gauhar Omarhanova, a first-year master's student at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of Iranian Studies.

Gauhar Omarhanova is a young translator with extensive experience in introducing Kazakh literature to Persian readers. This is her third translation into Persian. Her previous works were highly appreciated by Iranian literature enthusiasts.

Through the translation of Makpal Zhumabay's works, Omarhanova conveyed the profound meaning and artistic nuances of the author's poetry to Persian readers. This project was recognized as an important step in strengthening literary and cultural ties between the two countries.

During the seminar, participants shared thoughts on the mutual resonance of Kazakh and Persian literatures, the role of translation in cultural dialogue, and the prospects for creative collaboration.
