December 16 is Independence Day of KazakhstanDecember
On December 3, 2024, the senior lecturer L.A. Tursaliyeva together with the students of "Jurisprudence" major held an open lesson on the topic: "Independence Day of Kazakhstan". Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the day when a country with a deep history became a sovereign country again in a new era. In 1991, the USSR collapsed and the Union countries became independent states. Kazakhstan was among them. On December 16, 1991, the Supreme Council of Kazakhstan adopted the Law "On Independence and State Sovereignty". It should be noted that Kazakhstan was the last among the USSR countries to adopt the Law on Independence. This law, along with the Declaration of Independence of Kazakhstan adopted on October 25, 1990, strengthened the country of the Kazakh nation. Independence Day of Kazakhstan is the main state holiday of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This date is celebrated in Kazakhstan every year on December 16. The date of "Independence Day of Kazakhstan" was not chosen by chance. On December 16, 1991, the Supreme Council of Kazakhstan adopted the Law on Independence and State Sovereignty of the Republic. After the collapse of the USSR, the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic was the last union to declare its state sovereignty in the post-Soviet space. Pupils sang the national anthem, then read their prepared reports, recalled the history of the country and watched films dedicated to December 16. Remembering the events of December 16, the pupils interrupted each other and talked about the events of that day.
