An event on the topic "The Harm of Energy Drinks" was held at the Department of Pre-University Preparation. The aim of the event was to encourage young people to take care of their health, make informed choices regarding their well-being, raise awareness about health issues, and develop skills for leading a healthy lifestyle.

During the event, information was presented about the harmful substances contained in energy drinks, their effects on the human body, and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Energy drinks are consumed by people of all ages. They are used to stimulate the nervous system. It is known that energy drinks are most often consumed by those who work sleeplessly, athletes, drivers fatigued from long journeys, and young people preparing for exams. However, it is unfortunately the case that many do not pay attention to their consequences. Despite awareness of the harm these drinks can cause, we often do not know the specific harmful substances they contain. Unfortunately, in our time, energy drinks are sold in every store, leading to little concern for health.

During the event, participants learned about the composition of energy drinks. They discovered that these beverages contain sugar, caffeine, as well as various colorings, flavorings, and preservatives. These substances can lead to health issues such as diabetes, obesity, insomnia, anxiety, and cardiovascular diseases. Blood pressure may rise, and heart rate may increase, which can result in arrhythmia or heart rhythm disturbances.

Considering these issues, we discussed ways to limit the consumption of energy drinks. First and foremost, it is essential to establish legal restrictions, provide supervision from parents, and actively promote awareness of the dangers of energy drinks. Additionally, we should encourage the consumption of healthier beverage options in schools.
