The Role of Translation of Official Documents in the Information Age

On November 13, 2024, within the framework of SDG 4: Quality Education, a meeting was held at the Faculty of Philology with a specialist in the field of translation of official documents, Gulzat Kaspakbayeva. During the meeting, the translator shared her experience of working at the “Qazminerals” company and spoke about the specifics of organizing the translation process to 4th-year students majoring in Literary Studies. In particular, the translation specialist noted that misunderstandings and language barriers may arise between employees and management during simultaneous translation, and in such cases, the professionalism of the translator plays a very important role. "The main task of the translator is not only to establish a connection between languages, but also to be a bridge between cultures," she says. At the end of the meeting, the guest of the event expressed hope that the field of translation has a great future, and the high professional level of each specialist in this field will allow them to achieve great achievements at the international level.
