“Poetry, I will cherish you forever…”

On November 20, a meaningful evening on the topic: “Өлең, мен сені аялап өтем…” (“Poetry, I will cherish you forever…”) was held at the Kazakh-British Technical University to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the beloved Kazakh poet, the queen of poetry, Fariza Ongarsynova.
In the historically significant “Hall of Independence,” students from the Philology Department of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University performed poetry, recited verses, and presented an inspiring theatrical performance reflecting the lives and works of poets Mukagali Makatayev and Fariza Ongarsynova. The literary and musical evening was enriched with songs based on the poet’s verses and intertwined with profound reflections and poetry.
The performance, dedicated to Fariza’s life as a poet and public figure, was led by Argynbek Kunanbayuly, senior lecturer at KBTU and faculty member at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
At the end of the evening, the KBTU team expressed their gratitude to the KazNU students for their active participation in the event by presenting them with special gifts and a letter of appreciation from the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs.
