Within the framework of SDG 17 - Partnership for Sustainable Development, on 14.12.2024, the final webinar was held within the framework of the international ethnocultural project "Bulgaria and Central Asia: Dialogue of Cultures in the Digital Environment",
with the participation of universities from Bulgaria, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
It should be noted that this project was initiated and organized by Violeta Dobichina, Director of the Al-Farabi Center at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.
The project was implemented during 2024. It consisted of several stages: 1) preparation of videos and presentations about the culture of the countries, universities participating in the project; 2) webinars demonstrating the history and culture of the countries, the features of the universities; 3) offline ethnocultural practices in Bulgaria and Uzbekistan; 4) conducting a pilot study of cultural competencies and ethnocultural distance among students and teachers of 4 countries; 5) an international round table with a presentation of the preliminary results of the pilot study; 6) a final webinar summing up the project and showing a joint film about three countries - Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan.

The video about the project was edited by students of Sofia University.
It was nice to see the great work, the contribution of each university and country to this project, which lasted almost a year.

The goal of this project is to introduce students from Bulgaria, Kazakhstan and Central Asia to the culture of the countries, to develop intercultural relations and competencies for creating a professional and personality-oriented partnership.
In this international ethnocultural project from
Kazakhstan, 2nd and 3rd year students of the cultural studies specialty, a master's student of psychology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part under the guidance of Professor M.P. Kabakova and the head of the "Madeniet kz" club A.N. Kuderina.
Students and teachers of Sofia University and Bukhara State University expressed their desire to visit Almaty in September 2025 as part of an ethnocultural practice.
We hope that the project will find its continuation.
