Narcostop: Almaty youth opposes drugs

Another large-scale action "Narcostop" was held in Almaty, aimed at combating illegal drug advertising on the facades of city buildings. The event was held with the support of the Youth Policy Department and the Department for Combating Drug Crime of the Almaty Police Department. More than 500 volunteers, residents of community centers and students of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University of the Department of World History, Historiography and Source Studies took part in the action. They, together with employees of the Almaty city Police Department, identified drug advertising sites and removed illegal inscriptions.
During the raid, more than 100 advertisements placed on the facades of buildings were identified and destroyed within 1 day. The purpose of this event is to explain the harm of drugs and promote a healthy lifestyle among young people.
It is worth noting that this year more than 3,000 volunteers took part in the Narcostop project throughout the city. Within the framework of the project, more than 60 events were held, 2000 stencils and graffiti were removed. 1st year students of the Department of World History Historiography and Source Studies will take an active part in this event in the following years
