Al-Farabi Kazakh National University celebrated its 90th anniversary, marking a significant event in the history of Kazakhstani science and education.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University celebrated its 90th anniversary – a landmark event in the history of Kazakhstani science and education. At the ceremonial event, the State Counselor of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Karin, read out a congratulatory message on behalf of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
In his congratulatory address, the President emphasized that Al-Farabi KazNU is a flagship of Kazakhstani education, a leader in international rankings among Central Asian universities, and a symbol of excellence in the academic and educational spheres. The Head of State highlighted the significant contributions of the university’s graduates to the country’s development, reaffirming that the institution remains a key pillar of national education.

During the event, Yerlan Karin, on behalf of the President, presented state awards to the university’s faculty and staff in recognition of their outstanding achievements. Additionally, young scientists were presented with keys to new apartments, demonstrating the state’s commitment to supporting emerging scientific talent.
Professor Galiya Akhmetvaliyevna Movkebayeva of the Department of International Relations and World Economy at KazNU was awarded the state order “Құрмет” (“Honor”) for her significant contributions to the advancement of science and education. This prestigious award, presented on behalf of the President, underscores the importance of her many years of dedicated work.
The celebration also featured a documentary showcasing the university’s accomplishments, along with tributes to faculty, students, and alumni. The festivities concluded with a concert by creative ensembles and renowned opera and pop artists.
