​​​​​​​Excursion for schoolchildren of Almaty

The Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences organized an excursion for schoolchildren of the Physics and Mathematics School «KEMEL». The schoolchildren were introduced to the scientific and innovative activities of the faculty, which are carried out in the scientific center «Sustainable Development and Rational Nature Management», the Kazakh-Chinese laboratory «Remote Sensing and Application Technology».

This event allowed the schoolchildren to expand their knowledge in the field of ecology and study the ecological state of the soil.

The laboratory staff explained to the schoolchildren the composition of the soil, methods for assessing its quality and the factors affecting its ecological state. In addition, the students were familiarized with activities related to the prevention of pollution and soil erosion.

The event is aimed at achieving SDG 4 - quality education, this event increased the responsibility of students to nature and awakened their interest in scientific research and new technologies in the field of ecology, SDG 13 - Combating climate change; SDG 15 - Preservation of terrestrial ecosystems.
