The directions of scientific journalism were noted

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Qazscience, jointly held a scientific and academic seminar on "Media ethics and scientific journalism"

The event was attended by Kuanter Alikhanov, Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kanat Auesbay, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism at KazNU, university scholars, and students. The speaker invited was Moldiyar Yergebekov, a journalist and host of the program "Sana" on "Abai TV", as well as an associate professor at the Kh.A.Yasawi International Kazakh-Turkish University.

The seminar was opened by Kuanter Alikhanov, who emphasized the importance of media ethics in modern society and stated that "adhering to ethical rules is the responsibility of every citizen of the country"

Speaker Moldiyar Yergebekov presented a talk on the importance of science journalism, scientific communication, the public’s understanding of science, the responsibilities of journalists promoting science, and other relevant topics in journalism. In his speech, he said: "In modern society, science and technology impact all areas of human life, from economics to politics, from social relations to cultural activities. The media, including books, newspapers, magazines, educational films, radio and TV programs, podcasts, and online media platforms, which connect ordinary people and scientists, facilitate access to science for the masses. Popularizing science among the public is one of the key topics in state policy and further development of advanced countries. That’s why science journalism is so important in developed countries",- he said.

The scientific and academic seminar discussed issues related to the publication of scientific research and the results achieved by scientists in the media (interviews, feature articles, etc.) as well as the peculiarities of writing posts on social media. The speaker also answered questions from the participants.

At the conclusion of the seminar, Kuanter Dalenovich awarded scientists with commemorative medals in honor of the 125th anniversary of the birth of K.Satpaev.
