Within the framework of the SDG ‘Partnerships for Sustainable Development,’ Farabi University’s Indologists participated in the exhibition opening and book donation at the National Library

On January 28, 2025, faculty members and students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in the official opening of the exhibition "Tüsti Safar: Ündistangä Äsem Sayahat" — "Rangin Safar: A Colorful Journey to India" at the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the event, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Kazakhstan, Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad, ceremoniously donated new literature to the library's collection as part of the activities of the India Book Corner.
The event was organized by the National Library of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of India in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center.
The exhibition presented artworks dedicated to Indian culture and traditions. Special attention was drawn to the works of artists from the "Nemalevichi" art studio, as well as paintings by the renowned Kazakhstani artist Svetlana Kravchenko from Pavlodar, a UNESCO Club member and curator of the international watercolor community.
Faculty members and students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at KazNU explored the exhibited works with great interest and engaged in discussions on the significance of cultural interaction between Kazakhstan and India. The exhibition provided an opportunity to delve deeper into the diversity of Indian art.
This event marked an important milestone in strengthening cultural ties between the two countries, highlighting the significance of international cooperation in education and the arts. Al-Farabi KazNU continues its active collaboration with Indian cultural and academic institutions, contributing to the expansion of scientific and educational horizons for students and faculty.
