Gender equality is a variety of programs and actions the main task of which is to equaliz the rights and opportunities of women and men. Their goal is to prevent gender discrimination and ensure that women and men have equal opportunities in society, politics, education, and the labor market.
Various international organizations, including the United Nations and its special agencies carry out a huge work to ensure gender equality in the world. In particular, within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, «Gender equality» is designated as Goal 5. This goal includes providing equal opportunities for women and girls, preventing violence, and increasing women's economic and political participation.
During the event, the topics such as preventing violence against women and men, ensuring equal pay and creating jobs for women and men were discussed. The students shared their opinions on the topic of violence against women. A comparative analysis of the measures of other countries and Kazakhstan on such topics was also conducted.
Gender equality issues are always relevant in the world and in Kazakhstan, so we believe that young people should have information on this issue.
