Akhmet Baitursynuly was an outstanding figure of the Kazakh nation – a teacher, educator, language reformer, and literary scholar. His vast legacy is a golden treasure of Kazakh culture and science. To promote this valuable heritage among young people, Associate Professor of the Faculty of International Relations at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, PhD in Philology, Gulnar Okiskhanovna Mukhametkaliyeva, organized a visit for second-year students of the faculty to Akhmet Baitursynuly's house-museum.

History and Significance of the Museum

Akhmet Baitursynuly's house-museum is located in Almaty in the very house where he once lived. It was officially recognized as a museum in 1993 and has since become one of the country's most significant cultural centers. The museum houses valuable documents, rare manuscripts, books, photographs, and household items related to this prominent figure of the Kazakh intelligentsia.

During the excursion, students discovered new facts about Akhmet Baitursynuly's life and work. Museum staff provided a comprehensive overview of his educational contributions, his role in the development of Kazakh linguistics, and his political struggles.

Impressions from the Excursion

Students were deeply moved by Akhmet Baitursynuly’s contribution to the creation of the Kazakh alphabet and his selfless dedication to his nation. They felt the spirit of the great teacher and gained a deeper understanding of the relevance of his ideas and achievements.

"This excursion showed us that Akhmet Baitursynuly was not only a linguist but also a national leader who fought for the future of his people. Knowing his works is the duty of every young Kazakh," said one of the KazNU students.

Akhmet Baitursynuly’s works and ideas remain relevant to this day. His contributions to the development of the Kazakh language and his struggle for the education of the people are among the key pillars of the nation’s spiritual revival.

Such historical and educational trips help enhance the spiritual awareness of young people and ignite their interest in national values. Akhmet Baitursynuly's legacy is essential for future generations, and promoting it is our collective responsibility.
