On February 25, 2025 at 14.00 in the hall № 408 of Farabi Library was held a lecture of the President of the Academy of Preventive Medicine of Kazakhstan Almaz Sharman on “Biomedicine. Artificial intelligence and the future of mankind”, dedicated to the realization of Goal #3 ‘Good health and well-being’ within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals of Kazakhstan. The importance of artificial intelligence in medicine, biology, neurobiology, as well as in the fields of physical and mental health, proper nutrition and occupational safety has now been noted. It was said that the use of artificial intelligence in medicine and biology will allow scientists to accomplish scientific work that would normally take 50-100 years in just 5-10 years. In the field of medicine, it has been emphasized that artificial intelligence can be used to manage diseases such as preventing infectious diseases, improving the treatment of diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases and autoimmune diseases. According to a study by scientists (JAMA, 2025), the results of ChatGPT-4 showed that it is able to diagnose with up to 95% accuracy. In addition, it was noted that artificial intelligence plays an important role in organizing proper nutrition through the Food Health Index rating system. NutriSteppe-AI technology that allows any user to quickly and conveniently customize healthy food choices to suit their individual needs and to be informed about nutrition, health and disease prevention. 

Prof. Almaz Sharman concluded his lecture with a quote from Hippocrates: “Let food become your medicine, not medicine your food”. The lecture on the role of artificial intelligence in medicine and proper nutrition was large-scale, informative and meaningful. Students, masters, doctoral students and teachers of the faculties of Medicine and Public Health, Biology and Biotechnology, Information Technology listened to the lecture with interest, asked questions, and the meeting turned out to be very exciting. The professor presented his author's book to the active listeners. We are immensely grateful to the President of the Academy of Preventive Medicine of Kazakhstan, Prof. Almaz Sharman, for the wonderful meeting with our students.
