Roundtable on the topic "New Horizons of Geodesy in the Era of the Digital Economy"

On March 6, 2025, a roundtable on the topic "New Horizons of Geodesy in the Era of the Digital Economy" was held. This event was organized by Associate Professors of the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics Mursalimova E.A. and Aukazhieva Zh.M.

The roundtable was held within the framework of the department's work plan aimed at implementing the Sustainable Development Goals in Kazakhstan, in particular, it was based on the goal "Industrialization, Innovation and Infrastructure: Building Sustainable Infrastructure, Promoting Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialization and Innovation."

The roundtable, which was held in a hybrid format (online and offline), was attended by teachers of the department, as well as students of the "Geodesy and Cartography" and "Geoinformatics" educational programs.

Invited speakers:

• Nurtazina A.T. – Director of the international company HERE Technologies;

• Kabdulova G.A. – Chief Researcher of the Ionosphere Institute LLP, Candidate of Geographical Sciences;

• Rakhimova A.D. – Commercial Director of KazAeroSpace LLP;

• Orazbayev K.T. – Head of the Department of the Company Managing Industrial Zones of the Almaty Region;

• Utesbayev Almat – Chief Expert of the Expertise Department of the State Agricultural Institute of Aerial Photogeodetic Surveys (GISHAGI) of the Land Resources Management Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the round table:

3rd-year students of the educational programs "Geodesy and Cartography", "Geoinformatics" made reports on advanced technologies in the field of geodesy, cartography and geoinformatics.

The participants were shown videos about modern digital technologies and their role in shaping the digital economy of Kazakhstan.

Global digital solutions trends were discussed:

• Application of big data analytics in the labor market;

• Design of smart home infrastructure;

• Implementation of artificial intelligence in geodata processing.

Conclusion:
During the round table, prizes were drawn. The chairman of the jury, Nurtazina A.T., presented the winners with diplomas, as well as souvenirs, sweatshirts and other prizes. All participating students were awarded certificates.

The roundtable has become an important platform for forming new professional connections in the industry, exchanging knowledge, and discussing the development prospects of the field of geodesy and geoinformatics.
