On March 18, 2025, lecturers of the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University named, PhD Abdildina K.M. and Abdrassilova A.K. held an educational seminar on the topic “Time Management and Skills of an Effective Scientist”. A special guest at the event was a third-year doctoral student, research fellow of Nazarbayev University – Otynshiyev Y.B.
The seminar was aimed at developing time management skills in students and young scientists, which contributes to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 4 – “Quality Education”. During the event, the speakers shared valuable experience and presented key methods for effective planning of scientific and educational activities:
• Eisenhower Matrix, 1-3-5 method, MoSCoW, etc.;
• Strategic planning and proactive approach;
• Participation in international projects and foreign internships;
• Combining research, teaching and personal tasks.
In addition, the seminar participants learned about the possibilities of academic mobility. The speakers shared their experience of internships at Rey Juan Carlos University (Spain) and Bar-Ilan University (Israel), and also gave practical advice on finding international educational programs and grants.
The event attracted great interest from students and young researchers. The participants noted that the knowledge they gained would help them increase productivity and manage their time more effectively in scientific and educational activities.
