Objective:
To provide high school students with professional guidance in the fields of information technology, cybersecurity, and cryptology, and to offer comprehensive information about the university and its academic programs.


🏫 List of School Visits

1. Abylaikhan Innovative School

On March 17, 2025, a career guidance meeting was held at Abylaikhan Innovative School with high school students. The session was conducted by G.M. Nurlybayeva, a first-year doctoral student from the Department of Cybersecurity and Cryptology, Faculty of Information Technology, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

During the session, students were provided with detailed information about the university's structure, faculties, and academic directions. Special attention was given to the "Cryptology" and "Information Security Systems" programs, highlighting their unique features, promising career paths, market demand, and the importance of becoming a specialist in these fields.

G.M. Nurlybayeva also shared valuable advice on key factors to consider when choosing a profession and current trends and requirements in the IT industry. The meeting concluded in a warm and engaging atmosphere, with students actively participating and asking questions.

 


2. School-Gymnasium No. 185

On March 14, 2025, a career guidance meeting was held at School-Gymnasium No. 185 in Almaty with students of grades 10–11. The session was conducted by Zh.A. Bimoldina, a first-year doctoral student from the Department of Cybersecurity and Cryptology, Faculty of Information Technology, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

During the meeting, students were introduced to the university's educational system and the structure of the faculty. Detailed information was provided about the academic programs offered by the Department of Cybersecurity and Cryptology. The doctoral student also shared practical guidance on preparing for the Unified National Testing (UNT) and explained the admission requirements for KazNU.

In addition, there was an informative discussion about the growing demand for cybersecurity professionals in the modern labor market, career advancement opportunities, and the long-term relevance of this field. The session was highly engaging and beneficial for the students, sparking their interest and expanding their understanding of the IT and cybersecurity sectors.


3. Secondary School No. 57

On March 17, 2025, a career guidance meeting was held at Secondary School No. 57 with high school students. The session was conducted by D. Bashshykkyzy and N.A. Odanova, first-year doctoral students from the Department of Cybersecurity and Cryptology, Faculty of Information Technology, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

During the session, the doctoral students provided comprehensive information about the university admission process, entrance requirements, and key aspects of student life. They also introduced ongoing scientific projects and academic mobility programs at KazNU while presenting current opportunities in the IT field.

The students showed great interest and actively engaged by asking relevant questions, to which they received detailed and thoughtful answers. This meeting helped spark their interest in information technology and cybersecurity, motivating them to take confident steps in choosing their future professions.

 


4. School-Gymnasium No. 198

On March 19, 2025, a career guidance session was held at School-Gymnasium No. 198 in Almaty for students of grades 10–11. The meeting was conducted by G.T. Seitkali, a first-year doctoral student from the Department of Cybersecurity and Cryptology, Faculty of Information Technology, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

During the session, the doctoral student provided detailed information about the main directions and unique features of the department, emphasizing the growing importance of information security and cryptology in today’s world. The discussion also covered current trends in career choice, labor market requirements in the IT sector, and the increasing demand for cybersecurity professionals.

The session was held in a motivational and interactive format, allowing students to engage in open dialogue. They shared their thoughts, asked questions, and received valuable guidance that helped them make more informed decisions about their future career paths.
