An educational event was held on the topic: "The educational significance of Kazakh fairy tales"

On March 13, 2025, Associate Professor, PhD,  the lecturer of t "Kazakh Oral Folk Literature"  course Gulnaz Rakhimovna Dautova, Head of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor A.B. Temirbolat, Senior Lecturer, Doctor of Philological Sciences Gulzhan Zhambylkyzy Bolatova, and  the first-year students of "Literary Studies" major  Aizhan Toibazar and Talgat Turdali organized a pedagogical session for  the second-year students on the topic : "The Educational Value of Kazakh Folk Tales" within the framework of  SDG 4 "Quality Education."
The event was attended by the Deputy Dean for Scientific-Innovative Work and International Relations of the Philological Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Zh.A. Bayanbaeva, as well as  the lecturers from the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory, S.B. Tleubaev, A. Sargeltaeva, and Senior Lecturer from the Department of Russian Language and World Literature, K.N. Zhapparkulova.


The main goal of the pedagogical session was to reveal the ideological and artistic significance of works that reflect the spiritual culture of the people, the history and theory of folklore, the place and nature of folk art, as well as the peculiarities of the emergence, distribution, and preservation of oral literature, through teaching Kazakh oral literature as a separate subject.
During the event, the  students were divided into groups, and active methods were used. In addition, the types, history, and theory of fairy tales in the works of M. Auezov, M. Gabdullin, Z. Seitjanovich, and others were analyzed. The first part explained the main differences between fairy tales and their scope of application. After familiarizing themselves with the theoretical material, students used various methods and completed creative assignments.


In the final part of the event, each group analyzed the features of fairy tales using the "Random Wheel" method, considering the role of fairy tales in modern society and their significance in the education of youth. At the end of the session,  the questions were asked for feedback using the Wordwall app. Students demonstrated a deep understanding of the topic of the pedagogical session and shared their thoughts. During the session,  the doctoral students used digital technologies for brainstorming, group work, Q&A methods, and also conducted feedback through the Wordwall platform.
At the conclusion of the event, the organizers presented their opinions and suggestions. During the session, the types of fairy tales were comparatively examined, their differences and similarities were identified, as well as their role in literary studies.
