SDG 3. “Health and well-being: The basis of sustainable development"

On April 1, 2025, as part of the implementation of SDG 3 "Good health and well-being", a lecture was held as part of the curatorial hour. A lecture organized by professors of the Department of Biotechnology”\: Atabayeva S.D., Shoinbekova S.A., Asrandina S.Sh., Kenzhebayeva S.S. for students of the specialty "Biotechnology" on the topic: “SDG 3. Health and well-being: The basis of sustainable development".
The aim of the event: Students' understanding of the importance of health in the life of each person and for society as a whole, awareness of the meaning of a healthy lifestyle for achieving professorial goals, as well as factors influencing the achievement of good health and well-being.
The students prepared a presentation on the topic: "Health and well-being: The basis of sustainable development". Ensuring a healthy lifestyle and promoting well-being for everyone at any age is a key element of sustainable development. Health is not only the absence of disease, but also a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. The lecture was devoted to an overview of key aspects, global challenges and innovative approaches to maintaining health and well-being at all stages of life. The relationship between health and the environment, the role of technology in healthcare, as well as social aspects affecting the availability and quality of medical care, as well as the importance of personal responsibility and everyone's contribution to creating a healthy lifestyle culture for achieving sustainable development were considered.
The main components of physical and mental health, health in different age periods, environmental health factors, social aspects of health, personal responsibility and global health7 were considered. Issues related to technological solutions to public health problems, digital solutions, and personalized medicine were also highlighted. Innovations in healthcare include genetic research, personalized medicine, artificial intelligence in diagnosis, and advanced treatment methods. The contribution of biotechnologists to maintaining public health through innovative technological methods was also discussed.
