The Environment and We: Ecological Culture

On April 3, 2025, as a  part of her pedagogical practice,  the first-year master's  degree student of  "7M02312 Foreign Philology (Western Languages)" major, Bekmyrzakyzy Anar, conducted an open educational session on the topic:  "The Environment and We: Ecological Culture" for the  third-year students of  "6B02303 Foreign Philology (Western Languages)" major. The session was held under the guidance of senior lecturer Adiliya Alimbayeva and group curator-advisor Gulsima Dairabekova. This event was dedicated to one of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals—preserving terrestrial ecosystems.

The primary goal of the open educational session was to develop students' ecological culture, increase their environmental responsibility, and foster a conscious attitude towards nature conservation. During the event, participants gained insights into global environmental issues, ecosystem degradation, its consequences, and the principles of sustainable development. The session was interactive, featuring a special presentation that provided facts about the environmental situation and explored possible solutions. During the discussion, participants exchanged opinions on preserving ecosystems, enhancing ecological culture, and taking personal initiatives to protect nature.

A special highlight of the event was the participation of KazNU associate professor and esteemed educator Gulsum Seilkhanovna Suleimenova, who has been working at the university for over 50 years. She shared her insights on environmental protection issues and provided students with valuable advice on the importance of adhering to the principles of ecological responsibility and sustainable development.

The open educational session generated great interest among students and concluded with an active discussion. At the end of the event, students presented their suggestions on increasing environmental responsibility and expressed their willingness to contribute personally to nature conservation. In conclusion, this event helped enhance students' environmental awareness, strengthen their motivation to protect nature, and support the implementation of sustainable development goals.
