Master class on the topic: "Socially Responsible Tourism: Contribution to Regional Development"
On April 3, 2025, as part of the annual "Farabi Alemi" Science Week, the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism successfully conducted a master class on the topic "Socially Responsible Tourism: Contribution to Regional Development." The primary goal of the master class was to draw the attention of young professionals to issues of sustainable and socially responsible tourism, which can significantly improve the socio-economic status of regions and help preserve cultural and natural heritage.
Head of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, PhD Baiburiev R.M., delivered insightful presentations about the significance and impact of responsible tourism on local communities, shared examples of successful cases, and discussed potential methods of engaging youth actively in tourism activities. Special attention was given to the interaction between tourism businesses and local communities, as well as the role of educational institutions in training professionals capable of unlocking regional potential through socially responsible approaches.
Participants actively engaged in discussions, asked questions, and exchanged views on current trends and challenges in the tourism industry. A practical session was also held during the event, in which students developed and presented their own projects on socially responsible tourism tailored to various regions of the country.
This master class once again emphasized the importance of integrating social responsibility into tourism activities and confirmed the interest of young professionals in sustainable tourism development.
