Topical Issues of Economic Security and Customs Regulation Discussed

On April 7, 2025, within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goal 17 (SDG-17), the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law organized a roundtable discussion titled “Improving Customs Regulation and Ensuring Economic Security.”
As a special guest, Dinara Abilova, a customs declarant from Terminal Logistics Services LLP, delivered an informative presentation on the practical challenges encountered in customs procedures. In her speech, she not only proposed modern approaches aligned with current customs requirements but also emphasized the importance of digitalizing customs infrastructure to improve transparency and efficiency.
During the event, Head of the Department G.A. Kuanaliyeva highlighted that in the context of globalization, ensuring economic security is a shared responsibility of both state institutions and the academic community. Senior lecturer E. Kuandykova gave a presentation on the issues of digitalization in the customs sector. Third-year law students also took an active part in the roundtable, presenting their suggestions for the development of customs legislation.
