The Impact of Lifestyle on Reproductive Health and Infertility Risk (SDG 3)

On April 9, 2025, the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics held a curatorial session on the topic: "The Impact of Lifestyle on Reproductive Health and Infertility Risk". The event was organized by first-year master's student of the educational program "7M05119 - Reproductive Genetics," T.K. Bayandina, and PhD, Acting Associate Professor A.V. Lovinskaya, for first-year students of the educational program "6B05105 – Genetics."
The educational hour included a lecture focused on how lifestyle choices affect reproductive health. Particular attention was given to the harmful effects of smoking, alcohol and drug use, physical inactivity, and chronic stress on fertility in both men and women, as well as their potential impact on the health of future generations. The main goal of the event was to raise student awareness and encourage a more responsible and conscious attitude toward their bodies and lifestyles. The theme of the event addressed aspects of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) – Good Health and Well-being.
To promote active student engagement, an interactive discussion was held where participants asked questions, analyzed real-life examples, and shared personal opinions. This format helped reinforce the material and encouraged students to reflect on their own habits. Many expressed genuine interest in the topic and emphasized the importance of such events in the educational environment.
