“SDG 17: Partnership for Sustainable Development”

On April 11, 2025, at the Faculty of Philology, under the supervision of Senior Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies, Candidate of Philological Sciences Gulnara Sultanbekovna Sharipova, the first-year master’s degree students of “Foreign Philology (Western Languages)” major, Roza Bekenova and Almira Kairat, organized an open curatorial session on the topic: “SDG 17: Partnership for Sustainable Development.” The event was held within the framework of the 17th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of the United Nations.
The main objective of the event was to explain to students the importance of partnerships in achieving sustainable development, to emphasize the role of international cooperation, and to highlight the necessity of joint actions to achieve the SDGs. Additionally, the session aimed to foster students’ civic responsibility and to cultivate a culture of collaboration.
During the session, a presentation was delivered and video materials were shown. Students received detailed information about the key aspects of sustainable development — economic, social, and environmental. Special attention was given to SDG 17, which focuses on strengthening partnerships to achieve common goals. Following the video presentations, a discussion was held, during which students shared their views on the role of partnerships in ensuring sustainable development. In the practical part of the session, students worked in groups, proposing partnership-based solutions for addressing issues such as poverty reduction, education system development, healthcare improvement, and environmental protection. Group work enabled students to demonstrate creativity, analytical thinking, and teamwork skills.
As a result of the session, students recognized the contribution of partnerships to sustainable development at both the global and national levels, understood the significance of international cooperation, and strengthened their civic position. The open curatorial session served as an important platform for broadening students’ horizons and fostering their sense of responsibility for the future of society.
