On April 11, 2025, the Faculty of International Relations of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi hosted an interactive session "SDGs in Practice", organized by the academic regional Resource Center for Information about the United Nations at the Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event was dedicated to the International training of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and became an important platform for discussing global challenges and opportunities for solving them.

Director of the UN Academic Regional Resource Center Leila F. Delovarova, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of actively involving young people in the implementation of the UN global agenda and international dialogue.

The main speakers of the session were 2nd year master's students of the Faculty of International Relations of KazNU - Flore Gaumont and Ivan Dhédin. They made a presentation on the application of the SDGs in real scenarios, using the example of the French department of Mayotte and the Republic of Bangladesh, highlighting the current problems of the region and possible ways to solve them in the context of sustainable development.

After the presentations, the participants were involved in interactive tasks and debates, where they proposed their own ideas for achieving the SDGs in Mayotte, discussed them among themselves, formed teams and defended the proposed initiatives in the format of group discussions.

The event was actively attended by 1st and 2nd year students, as well as master's students of the Faculty of International Relations. The participants demonstrated a high interest in the topic of sustainable development and took an analytical approach to studying the specifics of the regional problem.

Particular attention was paid to SDG 9 (infrastructure, industrialization and innovation) and SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities), which were selected and analyzed by the teams as key areas for achieving a sustainable future in the context of the selected region.

At the end of the event, all participants received certificates, and the organizers thanked the students for their initiative, creativity and interest in promoting the global goals of sustainable development.
