17 april, 2025

On April 17, 2025, in the Dormitory of the Faculty of Philology № 17    within the framework of SDG 4: Quality Education  a lecture on the topic:  "Ecological culture" was held. It was  organized  by Professor of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory S.Yerzhanova. The lecture was delivered  by the lecturer of the Faculty of Geography, Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Alim Milkaidarov. Geography faculty  students took part in the lecture together with Philology faculty  students.  Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Alim Mylkaidarov began his lecture  with one of the urgent problems of the XI century  which is  environmental protection and ensuring harmonious coexistence of mankind with nature. In particular,  he  analyzed and explained that along with the achievements of scientific and technological progress, the increased anthropogenic impact can lead  to irreversible changes in the natural environment. To prove his statement he used  real examples. First of all, he drew attention to its irreparable consequences. So  each of us must develop an ecological culture.

He emphasized that it is a criterion reflecting the level of development not only of an individual, but also of the whole society.  The education system is well-known to  occupy  a special place in the shaping  of ecological culture. The university is not only a professional  training environment, but also a spiritual center that instills civic, environmental and cultural values. Consequently, duties  to impliment   green campus concepts (energy conservation, waste sorting, landscaping) will continue to be an urgent issue. The lecture touched upon  the state programs and the  public initiatives aimed at developing  ecological culture in Kazakhstan. The speaker  analyzed the indicators of its implementation as an important factor. Nevertheless, we have noticed that the level of ecological culture in the country is still low. The lecture  topic  which became the subject of the  student s’ debate, touched upon many issues. The truth is that a significant part of society views nature as a form of consumption
