International Training for Arabic Language Teachers Begins at the Faculty of Oriental Studies

The Center for Arab Studies and the Department of Arab Studies (Department of Middle East and South Asia Studies) at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — “Partnerships for the Goals” and “Quality Education” — in cooperation with the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (Saudi Arabia), have launched a training program for Arabic language teachers.
The purpose of the training is to familiarize Arabic language teachers with key theories, methodological and modern tools for teaching Arabic as a second foreign language, to develop practical skills, critical thinking, self-analysis, and the ability to assess the experiences of others to achieve effective results. The training also aims to study and implement best global practices in the methodology of teaching Arabic as a second language.
The seminar is conducted by experts from the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language: Dr. Muhammad Al-Bushri and Abdul Rahman As-Sarami.
To participate in the training, applicants must have a higher education degree in Arabic language and relevant teaching experience.
The course covers topics such as the language acquisition process, methodological principles of language teaching, instruction and application of language elements, development and use of language skills, classroom management, teaching tools and technologies, assessment and testing, challenges in language instruction, and professional development of teachers.
The training is organized within the framework of a bilateral memorandum signed on September 26, 2024, between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia).
The event is attended by faculty members, master’s and doctoral students of the Department of Arab Studies, as well as about 30 instructors from other educational institutions that train Arabists, including: Nur-Mubarak University of Islamic Culture (Egypt), Abylai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, Abai Pedagogical University, and others.
The training covers 36 hours, and upon completion, participants will receive an international certificate issued by the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language.
The training will continue until May 29.
