On May 26, 2025, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University launched an international training program for Arabic language instructors of the Republic of Kazakhstan and students of the Arabic Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies

This project is being implemented within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation signed between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language, located in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The training involves 25 Arabic language instructors from various universities in Almaty and 30 students from the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi KazNU.
On the first day of the event, the delegation members were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty, Natalia Borisovna Yem. Representatives of the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language — Dr. Afrah Al-Tamimi, Director of the Linguistic Corpora Department, and Academy staff member Uhud Al-Shalawi — conveyed the gratitude of the Academy's Consul General, Abdallah Al-Washmi, to the Dean.
The delegation expressed their appreciation to the university’s Rector, Mr. Zh. Tuimebayev, vice-rectors, the faculty dean, and department heads for their support in organizing the seminar, and rated the seminar’s organization as being of a high standard.
The Dean of the Faculty emphasized that the Arabic Studies Department faces significant responsibilities in admitting new students for the upcoming academic year, and highlighted the importance of support from prestigious organizations such as the Academy. She invited the Academy to participate in the upcoming admission campaign.
The Academy representative, in turn, stated that they are ready to host newly admitted students for a three-month stay at the Academy and offer various motivational programs. Other topics discussed included the possibility of internships at the Academy in Saudi Arabia, the "Hamza" proficiency test for students, and the need for seminars on subjects such as "Using New Technologies in Learning Arabic."
