International Arabic Language Training Program Concludes at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

On May 29, 2025, the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University successfully concluded an international training program for Arabic language instructors and students of the Department of Arabic Studies.
The event was organized within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language (Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). Supported by both institutions, the training served as a significant step toward strengthening academic and educational collaboration between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia.
The program brought together 25 Arabic language instructors from various universities in Almaty and 30 students from the Faculty of Oriental Studies at KazNU. The agenda included intensive practical sessions, lectures, and methodological seminars aimed at enhancing professional skills and fostering the exchange of pedagogical experience.
At the closing ceremony, the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Dr. Nataliya Borisovna Em, delivered a welcoming speech and conveyed gratitude on behalf of the University’s Rector, Professor Zhanseit Tuimebayev, to the Secretary-General of the Arabic Language Academy, Mr. Abdullah Al-Washmi, for his contribution to the development of Arabic studies in Kazakhstan and for the fruitful cooperation.
In turn, Dr. Afrah Al-Tamimi, Director of the Department of Linguistic Corpora at the Academy, expressed appreciation to the event organizers — Dean Nataliya Em, Director of the Center for Arabic Studies Bayan Nursultanovna Zhubatova, and Head of the Arabic Studies Department Aydyngul Khavan — and highlighted the high level of organization of the training.
The program’s trainers — Muhammad bin Shudayd, Abdurrahman Al-Sarami, and Uhud Al-Shalawi — expressed satisfaction with the academic level of Kazakhstani instructors and students, as well as the enthusiastic participation of all attendees.
The Saudi Arabian delegation thanked the leadership of KazNU — including the Rector, First Vice-Rector, Vice-Rectors, the Center for Arabic Studies, the Dean of the Faculty, and the department heads — for their support in organizing the event, and emphasized the importance of further strengthening academic ties.
At the conclusion of the training, all participants were awarded internationally recognized certificates from the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language.
