1st-year students of the "Land Management and Cadastre" educational program completed a field training practice

From May 26 to June 7, 2025, first-year students of the educational programs "6B07303 – Land Management" and "6B07304 – Cadastre" from the Department of Geography, Land Management, and Cadastre underwent professional (educational) practice in accordance with the academic curriculum.
The educational practice was conducted at the site of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The educational (geodetic) field practice consisted of three stages: preparatory, field, and office (cameral).
During the preparatory stage, students familiarized themselves with the area where topographic surveying would be carried out. Geodetic instruments were also prepared for the set of field topographic works.
In the field stage of the practice, students first conducted reconnaissance — a preliminary survey of the area. Then, they measured horizontal angles on a prepared polygon using a theodolite and filled out the field journal for theodolite surveying. Additionally, technical leveling work was carried out on pre-designated routes, and the corresponding field journal was completed.
The office (cameral) stage took place in laboratory conditions at the university. Students processed the collected data to compile a plan and profile of the surveyed area. Conditional symbols were prepared according to the scale of the plan. Then, the plan and profile were drawn, and a practice report was prepared. The practice concluded with the defense of the report.
