KazNU graduate passed the selection of the LOCALINTERNational 2025 competition
The Union of Municipalities of Turkiye has announced the list of participants in the international program LOCALINTERNational 2025.
More than 21,900 students from around the world took part in the competition. According to the results of a multi–stage selection, which included an analysis of academic performance, motivational essays and a video interview, only 20 participants were selected, among whom Amina Shyrintai, a graduate of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management of KazNU.
The LOCALINTERNational program has been implemented since 2012 and provides students with a unique opportunity to learn about Turkey's experience in local government. During this time, more than 300 students from 60 countries have become participants.

This year's program runs from August 31 to September 7 in Ankara, Eskisehir and Istanbul. Its participants get acquainted with the activities of municipalities, visit educational and cultural centers, mass media and key organizations. The program also includes thematic trainings, meetings with government officials, as well as cultural tours that allow you to learn more about the history and traditions of Turkish cities.
The participation of our graduate in the LOCALINTERNational 2025 program is evidence of the high level of training of KazNU graduates. This confirms their competitiveness in the international arena and contributes to strengthening the university's image as a center for the formation of sought-after specialists who actively participate in global youth and educational initiatives.
This achievement is organically correlated with the UN Sustainable Development Goals – SDG 4 "Quality Education", SDG 11 "Sustainable cities and human settlements", SDG 16 "Peace, Justice and effective institutions" and SDG 17 "Partnership for Sustainable Development", as it develops students' competencies, strengthens youth participation in municipal government and expands international cooperation.
