SDG-4 Associate Professor, Candidate of Philological Sciences Rimma Zhaksylykbayeva presented a two-volume monograph titled "Kósemsóz kemengeri: Sherkhan Murtaza" ("The Master of Publicism: Sherkhan Murtaza"). This academic work compiles Murtaza’s publicistic legacy, his editorial school, and includes periodical publications from 1956 to 2006 that had never been compiled into any previous collection.

The first volume, aimed at journalism students, researchers of Kazakh press, young scholars, and all those interested in the art of journalism, provides a scholarly evaluation of Sherkhan Murtaza’s life and creative path from 1956 to 2000. It explores his editorial and organizational skills in Kazakh journalism, the linguistic-stylistic and artistic features of his essays, the genres of his publicistic works, and the compositional structure of his writing.

The monograph also includes reviews of Murtaza’s works, memories from colleagues, students, and contemporaries, interviews with the author, and a bibliographic list of his articles, essays, reviews, and other publications.

Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Bauyrzhan Zhakyp remarked: “Sherkhan Murtaza is the beacon of the people. Studying his publicism is a way to illuminate national consciousness. This monograph will become the strong foundation for future ‘Sherkhan Studies.’”

As the saying goes, “A great teacher inspires great students.” Following in her mentor’s footsteps, young scholar Bagdat Sultankyzy also presented her monograph titled "The Publicist’s Creative Laboratory: The Nature of Talent and Writing Technique."

The work explores the unique characteristics of Oralhan Bokei’s publicistic style, revealing the nature of his talent and writing technique. It also analyzes Mukhtar Magauin’s editorial work in Zhuldyz magazine and the historical and documentary publicism in his literary writings.

Publicism is not merely a tool of information. It is the voice of the people, a reflection of the times, and a legacy for future generations. In Kazakh journalism, studying the works of giants like Sherkhan Murtaza, Oralhan Bokei, and Mukhtar Magauin opens new dimensions in understanding national identity.

One monograph offers a deep dive into Murtaza’s legacy, while the other reinterprets the publicistic contributions of Bokei and Magauin with a fresh perspective — both are important steps forward in this field.
