The event on the topic: “The Role of University Education in the Development of the State” within SDG 4: Quality Education

On October 7, 2025, the Department of Foreign Languages held an event titled “The Role of University Education in the Development of the State,” organized by the senior lecturers D.M. Makhmetova, E.I. Lugovskaya, and Z.S. Nessipbayeva. The event was conducted within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education and brought together the first-year students of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology.
The event was held in a hybrid format – both online and offline which allowed the students, the teachers, and the guest participants from different countries to engage in meaningful dialogue.
During the event, the students made mini-presentations on the topic, which they prepared in collaboration with their friends studying at foreign universities. In their talks, the participants reflected on the importance of higher education and discussed how they, as future professionals, could contribute to the development of their country.
The event also featured Kazakh students currently studying abroad, including:
- Artem Polishchuk (Pomeranian University, Słupsk, Poland),
- Sultan Gazamov (Rochester Institute of Technology, United Kingdom),
- Ilya Zharikov (University of Vienna, Austria).
Each of the participants shared their valuable insights about their international academic experience and expressed inspiring ideas about the role of young professionals in the socio-economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event served as a platform for knowledge exchange, international cooperation, and student motivation, highlighting the importance of quality education and global engagement as key drivers of sustainable national progress.
